ID Capture Best Practices

Keep these tips in mind while capturing an ID.

Use Good Lighting

Proper lighting creates faster results. Make sure the ID document is not too dark or too light.

Disable the Flash

Turn off the device flash. A flash can create glares and reflections.

Hold Steady and Level

To ensure the image is clear without blurriness or distortion, hold your device steady, stop moving, and keep the device level with the subject.

Create Contrast

The document should be in clear contrast to the background. A light-colored document on a dark background works best.

Remove Objects

Remove hands or other objects from around the ID document.
